This little gem is painted in oil and as you may be able to tell is still wet. It will get slightly darker as it dries, which may take a week.

10 inches by 10 inches. oil on canvas 150.00
This is the second in my geisha series. I don’t manipulate the photos of my paintings but on this photo I should have. The painting is actually very white and this photo makes it look a bit blue.

I think these photos just don’t turn out at night as well as those taken in outdoor light. This painting is much more delicate than this photo shows. I think its the flash.
It is 11:54 PM and I’ve just finished this painting and hurried to get it on line before midnight. I’ve really been having a difficult time getting all these commissions finished. I had three this week, and two of them were larger paintings, I’m still working on them, I’ll try to post them later this week if I can.
A painting a day “Tulips ll”
July 18, 2008This is 9 by 12 $75.00 and I didn’t think about it till I was finished but this is almost too big. See, I always uses Arches paper which is smaller than Frabriano Artistco paper and when I make these small paintings I cut the paper in half. Not thinking I did this, painted the painting and when I went to measure it, I realized it was too big. opps.. Well I’ll paint another tomorrow not exactly like this but some tulips. I’m using my new paints and I think this red is a touch brighter than the other red.

Last night I painted three little cherries and I painted them and I painted them again and again… never quite getting the look I wanted, I painted them so much they looked overworked and tired. So I put them to bed and today I am posting this abstract in their place. Sometimes a small little thing can get the best of you. I ‘ve painted lots of Cherries, I know their image, have it right there in my minds eye, I can see their color, shape, highlights and pretty much can paint them in my sleep. Why? why? why is it that even though you can paint something over and over again at a drop of a hat… at times you can’t. Guess it was just one of those days. I did paint a bit on my larger Koi painting which you might check into.. http:// h20color.wordpress.com Its coming along and only needs some final tweaking.
